Unofficial LiveJasmin Chat FAQ

If you’re new to LiveJasmin and you’re looking for info straight from another LiveJasmin member, or if you’re already a LiveJasmin member and you’ve always been curious about something but never quite found an answer, then look no further!  I’ve compiled a list of frequently asked quetions, and questions that I myself was curious about when I first became a member, so that your LJ (LiveJasmin) experience will be as simple and fun as mine continues to be.  I will continually add new information to this FAQ page, and if there’s something you’re curious about that I haven’t covered here, go ahead and send an email to admin [at] sexyshemalecams [dot] com.  I’ll do my best to research the answer and add it here.

Will I have to worry about LiveJasmin sharing my information?

Protecting your identity is certainly an important aspect of any online activity.  The whole idea of live, private webcam shows is one that is built on trust; the service provider trusts their members to be faithful and courteous users, while the members trust the service provider to keep their information strictly confidential and to refrain from any abusive practices.  At LiveJasmin, we all act out our deep and wonderful fantasies, and the fear of being discovered and possibly harrassed for them is not a good one.  LiveJasmin has pledged to protect the information we provide them, such as your name, address, and credit card number, by A) strong encryption, B) keeping it hidden and away from LiveJasmin.com servers, and C) never sharing or selling it to 3rd parties.

Will I have to worry about hidden fees or charges?

No.  I’ve never once seen a hidden fee or charge.  LiveJasmin never touches my credit card unless I buy more credits (which is relatively frequent occurrence).  Whenever you purchase credits you’re sent a confirmation email that accurately reflects your recent purchase, and you can save these for record-keeping purposes if you’re worried.  It would be very easy to tell if there were hidden fees or charges since you’re only spending money on credits.  There’s nothing else to buy really, unless you’re a top member, which costs 15 credits bi-weekly.  Other than that, I haven’t seen any other costs.

Should I share my information with the models or other members?

This one is sort of a no-brainer, but I figured I’d throw it in here anyway.  No, don’t share your passwords, or any sensitive personal information with the models or other members.  If it’s something as simple and innocent as a first name, or the country you’re from, that’s fine.  Don’t give out your credit card number to strangers.  Don’t give out your home address to strangers.  Use common sense, and you’ll be just fine.

Why do some of the models ask me for my email address/IM screen name?

This is sort of a difficult topic because the models can get in trouble for asking for your email address.  Most of the time they want your email address because they like to send you pictures of them with sweet notes, and even to let you know when they’re online in case you want to have a private session with them.  If you want to receive these emails, and they can be nice, it might be a good idea to make a new address solely for this purpose.  Use something like Gmail or Hotmail for a free address, and give that instead of your regular or work address.  If you don’t want email from them, just tell them that you only have email at work, and you don’t want email sent to it.

A very small percentage of models may try to contact you through email to lure you to another webcam service, or to even try to extract money from you.  This is why LiveJasmin forbids them from asking for your email address.  As with everything in life, all it takes is a few bad apples to ruin it for the rest of us, and exchanging emails with a model can be a lot of fun.  Just remember: use your common sense, and if you suspect that a model is trying to lure you to another webcam service or extract money from you, report her to LiveJasmin.  It might seem like an unpopular move, but this insures that all of the other honest models are able to operate successfully with untarnished reputations.

How does the credit system work?

It’s pretty simple.  One credit corresponds to one dollar, and you can buy credits in four different amounts: 29.99, 69.99, 99.99, and 159.99.  Each model has their own set credit-per-minute price.  For some it’s .99 credits/minute, though commonly it’s 1.99 credits/minute, and some (though I’ve only seen very few) will charge more than that.  Credits are only charged when you’re in Private Chat, or bi-weekly if you’re a Top Member.

What is the difference between Free Chat and Private Chat?

Free Chat can be accessed by both guests and members alike.  You can speak with the model, and see her, but you won’t be seeing any action.  That’s all saved for Private Chat where it will be just you and the model.  Alone in Private Chat, you can say whatever you want, ask for what you want, and she can show you or do anything you want.  You are free to leave Private Chat at any time.

What does it mean when the performer asks for some “rest time” after a private session?

Performing for you can take a lot out of these lovely shemale ladies, and so it’s nice to stay with them a little while afterwards in Private Chat to let them rest up before they have to go back to the Free Chat.  This, in my opinion, is much better than tipping the performers for the show.  It gives you some time to chat, to get to know them better, and gives them a bit of a breather to prepare for their next performance.  Indeed, it is a great gesture.

When I go into Private Chat with this model, she gives me a sob story about how she’s very unhappy because she’s all alone/her parents died/her birthday is coming/she doesn’t like being a model/her dog is sick/etc…  What gives?  Then she tries to get me to call her on the phone or cell phone.  What gives?

Generally, you won’t come across models who give this sort of pitch, but trust me friends, it’s the beginning of a phishing scam.  The stories are not true, and it’s their way to guilt you into contacting them and giving them money in some form.  When this happens, exit the Private chat immediately and report them to LiveJasmin’s customer service.  This is extremely inappropriate, and LiveJasmin will take care of the situation.

How will I know if the model will be able to give me the show that I want?

Just ask them in their Free Chat.  If you want them to use a dildo or a vibrator, ask them if they have toys.  If they do and you want to see if beforehand, ask them to show you.  Sometimes the camera is aimed at just their body/hands/keyboard or upper body, and you may want to see their full body; just ask them.  The models are very friendly, so don’t be intimidated or ashamed to ask them what they will and won’t do in Private Chat.

Are there only single performers for me to watch?

No, actually.  There are some performers who come (or cum) in pairs.  I’ll actually try to review some, but you can find private shows with two lovely shemales, or a shemale and a guy.  You might even be able to find a sexy shemale and her female partner who are willing to put on an incredible show for you. 

What does “bb”, “hru”, “pvt”, and “mmmm” mean?

A lot of the models, much like many chatters on the Internet, use acronyms.  For example, “bb” means “baby”, “hru” means “how are you”, “pvt” means “private” (to indicate private chat), and “mmmm” is used to denote sexual pleasure.  You’ll also see more common acronyms like “lol”, which stands for “laughing out loud”, and “brb”, which stands for “be right back”.

Do you really do private shows with the models to review them?

Yes, I do.  I am a full fledged LiveJasmin member and I buy credits like everyone else does.  I have a lot of fun with it too.
